After growing up in Cleveland’s storied art and club scenes Angel Brynner began her career designing menswear & producing underground fashion shows in NYC & Tokyo nightclubs.
She was known for taking the themes of her dark menswear collections and building out the interactive realms for her characters and & club-goers alike to play in, a self-allocated multinational corporate sponsorship assist under-girding the festivities.
After taking a hiatus from fashion to dedicate her life to writing a (currently on-going) series of dark fantasy books allegorically centered on helping readers vicariously make it through the process of finding ones way back to life after surviving hell on earth, AB once again began creating windows into the world she was building out in her books.
Full-on art invasions of raw spaces in different art communities scattered across the USA, Canada, Mexico & the Caribbean erupted out of her. Soaking up life, producing traveling multimedia exhibitions “on the road style,” taking on art residencies, mural assignments, retreats and unique house-sitting experiments to be genuinely boots on the ground in interesting enclaves is her baseline.
Now, instead of multinationals she focuses her sponsorship collaborations on rugged, iconoclastic interesting companies intent on making authentic, truly holistic impacts within their spheres of influence. She goes wherever she is led to see, serve and sow. The work created on this adventure has led to the Art of life/ AngelBrynner project [AOLAB] , Kokopellima Press and Globalboho, three channels that she produces various projects, books and events via.
In 2023, on the heels of Rathe unto the Fantastic, AB's debut solo show in LA county & the publication of Elision( grievechronic book eight), AOLAB also released seven of a ten part series of art monographs under the Grievechronic Revisionist umbrella. Featuring the best of the 1500+ color-coded collages/ “mood boards” that both her book, her set of ten active-art decks and their attendant art installations have been wholly keyed to since 2004, the revisionist series is now being tested as a therapeutic art tool to help get folks back to basics when it comes to working with their Imaginations. 2023 also saw the release of FIRESTARTER, the first anthology of dark fantasy short-stories from beyond the grievechronic universe by AB.
In October 2024 Elysum [ the ninth Grievechronic book] became available worldwide via Barnes & Noble and other outlets alongside volumes 1 through 8, in haptic formats only. In December of 2024 AB began working in earnest on an expansion of the handmade religious ecstatic costume work for Grievechronic for the upcoming ABEX AOLAB| Infinite Kingdom programming experience.
2025 is shaping up to be busy for the author|artist| born-again designer in the rough, with new book projects, collaborations, workshops, community outreach programming, explorations and events on the way.
